Kirsten Peterson worked her way through college in pre-press production and architectural signage. She studied pre-architecture, communications, and theatrical set design at the University of Utah. She earned her BFA in Advertising Design with an emphasis on Computer Graphics from the Academy of Art University in San Francisco, graduating with honors. She interned at Varitel Video, a top post- production facility, producing art for animations and special effects. As an art director at Patrick Media Group, a large-scale outdoor advertising firm, she led the corporation from traditional layout production to digital design platforms, training designers and art directors across the country.
At Dahlin Smith White Advertising (later DSW Partners, then EURO-RSCG), Kirsten was senior production designer and art director, thriving in the active and challenging environment. She contributed to DSW’s remarkable evolution from an already sophisticated high-tech, print-based ad agency into a formidable global advertising force. Kirsten worked on integrated campaigns for clients such as, Iomega, InFocus, Bay Networks, Adaptec, Tenfold, and wildly successful Intel.

DSW serviced their high-tech client base with a progressive approach that allowed me to expand from print advertising into the interactive realm.”

As an entrepreneur, Kirsten launched her own company, A_Priori Creative Alliance, to promote small business development along the Wasatch front. Her pragmatic approach to problem solving and life- long interest in renewable energy development drove her vision for advancing positive change in the business community. She developed a collaborative virtual alliance that brought together the strength of an entire team to create integrated campaigns for clients such as ETC Group, Earth Goods General Store, RioTinto, Haynie CPAs, Progressive Construction, Cambridge Collection, and Colorado River and Trail Expeditions.

To expand her understanding of the growing dependence of marketing on data-driven sources, distribution, and response, Kirsten worked in the higher education sector as a senior production designer with Helix Education. Supporting a fantastic creative team, she managed corporate brands, designed and built variable data direct mail, print collateral, web sites, video graphics, event graphics, email campaigns, web banners, and presentations.

Kirsten continues to explore independent creative opportunities. She values time to help improve the lives of other people, teaching oil painting and conducting Life Design Lab meetings. To stay abreast of the energy sector, she currently serves on the Committee of Consumer Services, Utah State Governors Office of Economic Development to help keep public utility costs equitable and reasonable.
